          No rain was registered during the month, but on the  a spate came on the Wadi El Arish at Nekhl, showing that rain had fallen further south.

Justice: -

          Travelers - Two hundred and eighty seven poor travelers were fed at El Arish during the month.

Prices of Cereals: -

          Frontier Pillars. - The necessary arrangements having been made, a Turkish officer arrived at the end of April on the frontier to be present at the rebuilding on repairing of eight of the Frontier Pillars.

          The work was completed by the 1st of May, and proceeding drawn up and signed by both officers present.

Escape of Prisoner - A prisoner at Tor, undergoing 10 years' imprisonment, escaped on the 7th of May, but was recaptured on the 8th.

          Application was made for him to undergo his imprisonment in Egypt, and he has since been transferred to Toarah Prison.
